My Love Affair with Frank's Red Hot Sauce


Generally speaking, I will taste just about any food you put in front of me. Recently I’ve gotten bolder in my flavors and really upped the spice factor. I’m finding that Frank’s Red Hot Sauce is a very versatile condiment that you can put on just about anything. I used to shudder at the sound of hearing people say they put hot sauce on their eggs. Boy, have I been missing out! I almost get sad thinking of all those years I neglected to try Frank’s Red Hot. Certainly my tolerance for heat has increased over time. I can now eat Frank’s on my special breakfast egg burrito without breaking into a sweat worthy of a trip to the ER. Don’t laugh—I once ate a tablespoon of wasabi in a California roll and thought I was going to have to dial 911. My kids still laugh about that one.

What would Buffalo wings be without Frank’s Red Hot?! In perusing Frank’s website I found out that the first Buffalo wings were made with the special sauce back in 1964 in Buffalo, New York. It’s been around since 1920 and the uses have grown immensely over the years. Some people even put it on ice cream—I don’t know about that one but I’m willing to give it a try! If you go to Frank's web page they have TONS of recipes you can try from main dishes to desserts. Below is my egg burrito recipe. It’s nothing special but it gives me a wake up kick. Let the spice be with you!

Special Breakfast Egg Burrito
2 flour tortillas
2 eggs
splash of milk
¼ to ½ cup of cheddar cheese
salt and pepper to taste
Frank’s Red Hot Sauce

Warm the tortillas in the microwave for a few seconds. Beat eggs with milk and salt and pepper. Distribute eggs and cheese evenly between the two tortillas. Load em’ up with Frank’s!
