Taste Carolina Gourmet Food Tour of Downtown Raleigh: Spize Cafe

Spize Cafe is located in the "museum hub area" on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh.  When we walked into this place it is simple in decor.  The tables and chairs are from recycled material as is the tableware.  The friendliness of the owner and staff and the amazing food make this an eating establishment to sink your teeth into.

I've never eaten Vietnamese food though I've been really intrigued lately by the Nom Nom Truck on Food Network's The Great Food Truck Race.  I was pleasantly surprised by the explosion of flavor in the two dishes they served us:

Curry Chicken with Peanut Sauce on a Toasted Baguette

Pork with Anchovy Dressing, Cucumbers, Daikon Radish, Carrots, Mint Leaf and Asian Noodles

We decided that we were DEFINITELY returning to Spize soon.  In fact, we would have visited the next day but it was a Sunday and they were closed.  :(  Next time we're in downtown Raleigh, we're dining here!

Now I just have to figure out where to find that Nom Nom Truck . . . . .

Next stop on the gourmet food tour:  A Wrap Up
